Prime Min­is­ter Patrick Man­ning con­firmed yes­ter­day that he has re­ceived the Uff re­port of the Com­mis­sion of En­quiry in­ves­ti­gat­ing Ude­cott and the lo­cal con­struc­tion sec­tor.

He said, too, it was his in­ten­tion to make the re­port pub­lic. Yes; I got it (the re­port)," Man­ning said. "No. I have not had a chance to read it." Man­ning said "it was al­ways a com­mit­ment" for the re­port to be made pub­lic and pub­lished. Man­ning al­so dodged ques­tions about putting the PNM on alert for a gen­er­al elec­tion.

He de­clined to com­ment on any plans to hold a gen­er­al elec­tion this year. Man­ning spoke short­ly af­ter yes­ter­day's Peo­ple's Na­tion­al Move­ment walk­a­bout in the To­co/San­gre Grande con­stituen­cy. The walk was a con­tin­u­a­tion of the PNM's Meet the Con­stituents se­ries ti­tled: Ex­plain­ing Poli­cies, Pro­vid­ing Op­por­tu­ni­ties. Man­ning led the walk­a­bout from around 4.30 to 5.30 pm at the cor­ner of Quar­ry and Old Va­len­cia Roads.
