Soca Warriors' Keon Daniel completes Islanders switch

So­ca War­riors and Cale­do­nia AIA winger, Keon Daniel, has com­plet­ed his move to new­ly crowned Caribbean Foot­ball Union Club cham­pi­ons, US Soc­cer League's Puer­to Ri­co Is­landers. This af­ter his work per­mit was grant­ed last week. A na­tive of Lam­beau, To­ba­go and a grad­u­ate of the St Clair Coach­ing School, Daniel will join fel­low T&T play­ers Nigel Hen­ry, Os­ei Teles­ford, Kendall Jagdeosingh and Kevon Vil­laroel at the club for the 2010 sea­son which be­gan last month.

He has so far played 38 times for T&T with his last out­ing com­ing in a 2�0 loss away to Chile last Wednes­day. Look­ing ahead to join­ing up with his new team-mates and club, the left foot­ed Daniel said," I am grate­ful for the op­por­tu­ni­ty that I had with Cale­do­nia, I can­not be­gin to tell you how much I have learnt from coach Ja­maal Shabaaz and his staff dur­ing my time at the club."

"All I can re­al­ly say, is that I am thank­ful for my time there be­cause it pro­vid­ed the foun­da­tion for me to em­brace this new op­por­tu­ni­ty, and I would like to wish them (Cale­do­nia AIA) all the best for the cur­rent Dig­i­cel Pro league sea­son. "I am look­ing for­ward to work­ing with the coach­es at Is­landers and help­ing the team im­prove. "I am ex­cit­ed for the op­por­tu­ni­ty to help my new club com­pete for Con­ca­caf Cham­pi­ons League cham­pi­onship, as hav­ing a chance to play at that lev­el was a ma­jor in­flu­ence in my de­ci­sion to join the club.
