Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley has said he hoped Housing and Environment Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal was paying his own house mortgage.
Rowley said that while responding to claims by Moonilal that Balisier House, headquarters of the Opposition People's National Movement (PNM) may have to be sold for the party to repay an outstanding debt to the Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC).
Moonilal said on Monday Rowley's PNM could expect a "serious bill" shortly for services provided to it by the PTSC during the May 24 general election campaign. But Rowley hit back minutes after conceding defeat to the People's Partnership in Monday's local government elections.
"Balisier House in not in any threat...That's just political talk," he said."If there are bills owing to the PTSC, those who incurred those bills would discharge them. If the party has bills to discharge we will try and discharge them."
