PRESS RELEASE FROM THE TOBAGO COUNCIL PNM
The Tobago Council of the People's National Movement joins the island and country in extending sincerest condolences to Mrs. Hazel Manning, members of the Manning family and all the friends, well wishers and admirers, on the passing of Mr. Patrick Manning former Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and longstanding Political Leader of the PNM. The Council salutes the stellar contribution of this statesman to the development of Trinidad and Tobago, its institutions and its people. We share in the admiration of his view, his commitment and his courage. Patrick Manning did not only want to see things happen; he made things happen. It was during Mr. Manning's stint as Political Leader of the PNM that the Tobago Council was formed in 1998, signaling a reversal of the party's fortunes in Tobago. We admire the grace and dignity with which he endorsed his physical challenges and as he moved on to better place, we pray that his soul may rest in peace. Statement - Condolences on the passing of Hon Patrick Manning YOUTH ARM OF THE I.L.P�SATURDAY, JULY 2, 2016
The Executive and members of the Independent Liberal Party (ILP) joins with the national community in mourning the passing of former Prime Minister and former Political Leader of the People's National Movement (PNM) this morning. To the Manning family, the members of the PNM and the wider population, we extend our condolences. Mr Manning devoted 44 years of his life to national service during which time he served as one of this country's most senior and veteran legislators, and also as Prime Minister for approximately 14 years. His impact on the development and direction of our twin-island nation and people is therefore indelibly etched into our history and will not be forgotten. We pause, therefore, to reflect on his life and his contribution to the shaping of the lives of all citizens and our society.
