T&T Under-17s footballers suffered a 5-1 drubbing from fierce Caribbean Football Union rivals, Jamaica, to crash out of hunt for a FIFA World Cup spot at the 2015 CONCACAF Under-17 Championship (CU17) at the Estadio Francisco Morazan, San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Sunday.

Going into their first-ever meeting at the Concacaf Under-17 level, T&T, beaten in its first three matches needed a win to remain in contention while the Jamaicans were also after all three points to remain in the fight for top spot in the group and automatic World Cup qualification

It started brightly for the Shawn Cooper-coached T&T, when Chaz Burnett's 26th minute effort from the left side of the box hit goalkeeper Jahmali Waite's hand, before crashing off the near post while a minute later, Jamaica's Nathaniel Adamolekun and T&T goalkeeper Levi Fernandez collided at the penalty spot, as the ball continued towards the goal.

With the win, Jamaica improved to seven points from four matches, three behind laders USA and one adrift of host Honduras, as all three teams cemented spots in the qualifying playoffs for the least ahead of tomorrow's final round of pool matches.

Also on Sunday, substitute David Sanchez's 87th minute goal lifted Honduras to a 2-2 draw with the USA in their top of the table clash while Cuba held Guatemala to a 0-0 draw, which left the latter out on contention to advance.

Pool A will conclude tomorrow with T&T meeting Cuba from 4.30pm; USA against Jamaica (7pm) and Honduras meeting Guatemala, from 9.30pm.
