TSTT is committed to improving the broadband service in T&T NS has invested more than $500 million in wireless broadband in anticipation of a growing demand for high-speed mobile, internet access.
So said Nizam Baksh, Minister of Public Utilities, when he addressed the 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Mini Expo of the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunication Organization (Canto) at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port-of-Spain.
Baksh, who commended Canto on the meetings's theme Towards a SMART Broadband Caribbean Community, noted its relevance to the impending Broadband Infrastructure Inventory and Public Awareness Project which is being done in conjunction with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The project aims to strengthen the ICT sector in the region to improve innovation and productivity.
Leon Williams, former chairman of Canto and Master of Ceremonies for the evening, thanked the minister for reminding participants of the need to continue to work together to achieve the organisation's objective of providing specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely broadband for all of the region's stakeholders.
