The Peo­ples Part­ner­ship (PP) Gov­ern­ment has spent more than $200 bil­lion over the past three years and Princes Town has noth­ing to show for it, In­de­pen­dent Lib­er­al Par­ty (ILP) leader Jack Warn­er said on Fri­day night at a po­lit­i­cal meet­ing in Princes Town.Warn­er promised sup­port­ers that an ILP-con­trolled Princes Town Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion would im­prove qual­i­ty of life in the elec­toral dis­tricts.To ad­dress the prob­lem of un­em­ploy­ment, Warn­er said, they planned to de­vel­op the Ca­roni fac­to­ry fa­cil­i­ties in­to an in­dus­tri­al park.

"Em­ploy­ment is crit­i­cal for us, for the peo­ple in this cor­po­ra­tion," he said.Warn­er said there is still no pipe-borne wa­ter in some ar­eas. "One would have thought that af­ter more than $200 bil­lion which was spent over the past three years, the res­i­dents of the elec­toral dis­trict of Lengua/In­di­an Walk would at least have ac­cess to pipe-borne wa­ter."But the Peo­ple's Part­ner­ship tells us they de­liv­er and the PNM, a ma­jor part of the prob­lem, all of a sud­den wants you to be­lieve that they have the an­swer. What a shame!"

Warn­er spoke about nu­mer­ous land­slips, no street lights, drainage prob­lems and pol­lut­ed rivers, say­ing that the PNM must al­so be held ac­count­able."My peo­ple, I can go on and on and on be­cause on every street in this Princes Town Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion we ei­ther have drainage prob­lems, road re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion prob­lems, wa­ter prob­lems or light prob­lems. And this has hap­pened be­cause cer­tain peo­ple have been sleep­ing on the job and re­ceiv­ing salaries or stipends un­der false pre­tences."
