?After a successful reunion in February on home soil, the Woodbrook Government Secondary School (WGSS) E-Alumni committee, through officers responsible for USA activities, hosted theBig Apple Style Reunion 2.0, on September 5, which also celebrated the group's additional presence on the internet via their blog: http://wgssealumni.blogspot.com/ The reunion took place at the popularNegril Village Lounge, Manhattan, New York, and saw members representing graduating year groups from 1979 onwards.
Graduating year 1989 had the most representatives and issued a challenge to other year groups to top their turnout. The event also attracted members from as far off as England, Philadelphia, California, Atlanta and T&T.
Funds raised at this reunion will be used to purchase much needed football equipment for the school's current football team. The WGSS reunion was organised by US-based members of the E-Alumni, whichis an online (internet-based) past student networking group via social site Facebook, with over 300 past students of Woodbrook Government Secondary School, spanning the year groups from the 60s to 2008.
The E-alumni US reunion committee consists of past students Robert Davis, Deorie Buckmire, Natasha Bascombe, David Timothy, Roger Johnson and Dale Tyson. The committee expressed thanks to all in attendance in 2009, and said it was looking forward to another successful reunion in 2010.
