Former World Wrestling Entertainment Intercontinental Champion Carlito will be a part of the World Wrestling Council's professional wrestling events scheduled for Jean Pierre Complex this Saturday and Sunday. The Puerto Rican, who left the WWE after seven years last month, will be joined by international stars such as former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Scott Steiner, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin, former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James, former WWE Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer and WWE veteran Tony Atlas. President of the T&T Wrestling Association Thunderbolt Williams said that the number of famous names appearing this weekend was unprecedented in T&T.

"It's going to be one of the greatest wrestling cards ever witnessed here," he said. "You will see something you have never seen in your life. I guarantee that you're going to go home very happy." The TTWA is in talks with the WWC to stage events at the Jean Pierre Complex every month as part of a planned local revival in the sport. "Trinidad is really suffering right now for wrestling. We had a lot going on many years ago but now it's only available to people through cable," said Williams. "The Council will be touring in a circle through Caribbean islands like Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, St Vincent, St Kitt's, St Thomas and Jamaica and will be stopping in T&T each time."

This weekend's event will mark the farewell of Croatian Victor Jovica, a 40-year veteran of the international wrestling circuit. The 58-year-old said that he wanted to end his career in T&T out of respect to the fans who supported him when he was a fixture at the Hasely Crawford Stadium two decades ago. "For so many years, I have wrestled all over the world but my heart has always been in T&T," he said. "I love these people and the one thing I owe them is to retire right here."

Although he still loves with the sport, Jovica said he was forced out since his age had finally caught up with him. "I'm not that old but I think I've had enough," he said. "My body doesn't give anymore. I've given my life to this sport but I don't want to get hurt and end up in a wheelchair." CNC3 has signed a three year contract with the WWC to broadcast its events every Sunday from 3-4 pm and Monday from 10.30 pm-11.30 pm. Saturday's card will begin at 8pm and the family show on Sunday will start at 5 pm.
