Deonarine, Whitehall clash in South Tennis

For­mer Na­tion­al Un­der-16 cham­pi­on and Prom­e­nade Ten­nis Club B Cham­pi­on Rav­el De­onar­ine will meet stal­wart Clifton White­hall in to­day's Men's A Sin­gles quar­ter­fi­nal as the tour­na­ment con­tin­ues at Par­adise Pas­ture, San Fer­nan­do. De­onar­ine has a 2-0 head to head record but keen con­test is ex­pect­ed from the in-form White­hall.

Ramesh Ramd­han leads Ken Cor­bie 6-2, 0-0 and will con­tin­ue to­day af­ter rain swamped the Clay Courts.Last year's run­ner up Har­ry Ma­hase awaits the win­ner of the De­onar­ine, White­hall en­counter.

The tour­na­ment con­tin­ues next week with the Dou­bles event with eight pairs in each cat­e­go­ry.
