South­ern di­vi­sion po­lice are ask­ing for the pub­lic's as­sis­tance in iden­ti­fy­ing a body found float­ing in the Usine pond in Ste Made­line ear­ly this morn­ing.

The body was that of an East In­di­an woman, be­lieved to be in her late 40's to ear­ly 50's.

The body was spot­ted by OAS em­ploy­ees who vis­it­ed the pond to re­fill a wa­ter truck around 7am.

The men alert­ed the Ste Made­line po­lice sta­tion and a team of of­fi­cers re­spond­ed.

The body was clad in a Navy blue t-shirt, black jeans and a pair of black and gold san­dals.

The woman was said to have short black hair.

Po­lice are ask­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion on the iden­ti­ty of the woman to con­tact the Ste Made­line po­lice sta­tion at 652-3348.
