The Copy­right Mu­sic Or­gan­i­sa­tion (Cott) has with­drawn its le­gal threat to stop the pop­u­lar Soa­ka Till Sun­rise Fete sched­uled for to­mor­row, af­ter strik­ing a last-minute deal with event pro­mot­ers.Cott's change of heart came al­most ex­act­ly 24 hours af­ter its ini­tial re­lease threat­en­ing le­gal ac­tion against the fete's pro­mot­ers, WOW Events, for an un­paid copy­right li­cence fee for the event.

In a press re­lease sent yes­ter­day af­ter­noon, Cott an­nounced that it had grant­ed the fete pro­mot­ers the li­cence and thanked them for pay­ing the fee. "The pro­mot­ers of the high­ly-an­tic­i­pat­ed event, sched­uled to take place to­mor­row, have joined the list of events for this week­end that have al­ready se­cured the req­ui­site Cott li­cence for the pub­lic per­for­mance of its mem­ber's works," the re­lease said. The par­ty will take place at the O2 Park, Ch­aguara­mas, be­tween 3 am and 9 am.
