On Tuesday, Jamaica and Cuba both won their Group B openers at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, Kingston.
The Jamaicans got a 42nd minute goal from Oshana Boothe to edge Antigua and Barbuda 1-0 with the latter ending the match with ten men after Jamoy Stevens was shown a second yellow card by Puerto Rican referee Javier Santos in the 84th minute, 30 minutes after his first caution.
The Cubans saw off the challenge of Suriname 2-1 with Arichel Hernandez Mora scoring both items for the winners in the 24th and 45th minutes, while Suriname's consolation was netted by Miquel Danny Darson in the 46th prior to his team-mate Sergino Eduard being sent off in the 75th minute for a second caution by Bahamian referee Wilson Da Costa.
