Former prime minister Basdeo Panday says claims of ethnic imbalance in the society should be investigated and dealt with. Panday questioned why people were seeking to condemn Police Service Commission (PSC) Nizam Mohammed before investigating the facts. In an interview yesterday he said if Mohammed was right the matter should be addressed but if he was wrong then he should be condemned.
Panday said the media were raising the wrong questions about the matter. He said the cause of the ethnic imbalance must be determined before coming to any emotional conclusion about the issue. "Why do they want him to resign? Why they think he should resign?" he asked.
