The Film & Folk­lore Fes­ti­val (FFF) has an­nounced that the fes­ti­val will be hold­ing a se­ries of live events at Sandy Hill Na­ture Park and Ter­race over the course of the fes­ti­val days—June 24 to 26, 2022.

The theme of this year’s fes­ti­val is 1962 Strength in Sto­ries which will fo­cus on show­cas­ing T&T’s dif­fer­ent cul­tures and tra­di­tions from In­de­pen­dence six­ty years ago to to­day.

Fes­ti­val man­ag­er Donelle Wills said, “We are be­yond ex­cit­ed to bring 1962 to life at this year’s Film & Folk­lore Fes­ti­val. We in­vite every­one to take part in any, if not all, of the ex­cit­ing events we have planned over this three-day fes­ti­val. T&T is 60 years strong and what bet­ter way to cel­e­brate than with the Strength in our Sto­ries?”

The three-day fes­ti­val has been split in­to three very ex­cit­ing events that will have some­thing for every­one.

June 24 is Flam­beaux—a din­ner and cul­tur­al evening. On this day, pa­trons get to ex­pe­ri­ence a three-course meal un­der­neath the en­chant­i­ng pine trees of Sandy Hill Na­ture Park and Ter­race while en­joy­ing live en­ter­tain­ment in the form of mu­sic, sto­ry­telling and com­e­dy.

On Sat­ur­day, June 25, the en­tire fam­i­ly will ex­pe­ri­ence an af­ter­noon of fam­i­ly fun with Anan­si sto­ries and camp­ing/out­door ac­tiv­i­ties at Camp Folk­lore. For the lit­tle ones, and even the young at heart, there will be out­door scout­ing ac­tiv­i­ties such as rope ty­ing, com­pass nav­i­gat­ing, tent pitch­ing and so much more. There will al­so be boun­cy cas­tles.

On the fi­nal day, Sun­day, June 26, the FFF fam­i­ly will be tak­ing it back to 1962 with vin­tage style, mu­sic, food and fun. Fes­ti­val­go­ers are en­cour­aged to dress up in their best 1960s wear and be­come a part of the fes­ti­val’s walk down the his­tor­i­cal mem­o­ry lane.

The fes­ti­val is be­ing held in part­ner­ship with Dig­i­cel and every­one will have ac­cess to fes­ti­val con­tent via the Play­Go App, which will host na­tion­al, re­gion­al, and in­ter­na­tion­al films. This year’s fes­ti­val will al­so be avail­able on Filmoc­ra­cy—an in­ter­na­tion­al film and fes­ti­val host­ing plat­form. The FFF fam­i­ly is en­sur­ing that the fes­ti­val can be eas­i­ly ac­ces­si­ble to all who are in­ter­est­ed.
