The Film & Folklore Festival (FFF) has announced that the festival will be holding a series of live events at Sandy Hill Nature Park and Terrace over the course of the festival days—June 24 to 26, 2022.
The theme of this year’s festival is 1962 Strength in Stories which will focus on showcasing T&T’s different cultures and traditions from Independence sixty years ago to today.
Festival manager Donelle Wills said, “We are beyond excited to bring 1962 to life at this year’s Film & Folklore Festival. We invite everyone to take part in any, if not all, of the exciting events we have planned over this three-day festival. T&T is 60 years strong and what better way to celebrate than with the Strength in our Stories?”
The three-day festival has been split into three very exciting events that will have something for everyone.
June 24 is Flambeaux—a dinner and cultural evening. On this day, patrons get to experience a three-course meal underneath the enchanting pine trees of Sandy Hill Nature Park and Terrace while enjoying live entertainment in the form of music, storytelling and comedy.
On Saturday, June 25, the entire family will experience an afternoon of family fun with Anansi stories and camping/outdoor activities at Camp Folklore. For the little ones, and even the young at heart, there will be outdoor scouting activities such as rope tying, compass navigating, tent pitching and so much more. There will also be bouncy castles.
On the final day, Sunday, June 26, the FFF family will be taking it back to 1962 with vintage style, music, food and fun. Festivalgoers are encouraged to dress up in their best 1960s wear and become a part of the festival’s walk down the historical memory lane.
The festival is being held in partnership with Digicel and everyone will have access to festival content via the PlayGo App, which will host national, regional, and international films. This year’s festival will also be available on Filmocracy—an international film and festival hosting platform. The FFF family is ensuring that the festival can be easily accessible to all who are interested.
