“Good Health cannot be bought”, those words are oftentimes taken for granted. Money certainly cannot buy everything, that’s because everything is not materialistic in nature.
Truth be told money simply cannot buy health and it cannot buy discipline. While some folks are in a position to afford the luxury of expensive health clubs, MDs and or insurance, even vitamins, the responsibility and ability still fall on the shoulders of that individual to take care of himself. I am about to get a bit personal as I think it’s important especially in this present time, we are currently facing daily problems.
As I peel back the layers of my health this past year, I really appreciate the strident, true and methodical steps one must take to find strength to get through yet another day. It’s both a physical and mental one. There would be no question if I had to choose. We can’t buy health no matter how much money we have, yes, we can certainly buy medical treatments, but actual good health isn’t for sale anywhere on this planet. Your health is a priceless gift and it’s only when we are seriously ill do we really appreciate the pricelessness. How committed are you when it comes to your health and well being? Are you proactive and immersed in building health daily? That might include simple activities like, walking, drinking lots of water, eating clean without refined ingredients, less meat, taking adequate vitamins. Or are you using this lock down thing as a reason to be a victim of a more sedentary lifestyle? Because that’s a very good example of what not to follow.
In today’s world with all the pressures, it is easy to allow stress to take center stage and derail you from maintaining good health. However, one must be mindful of our behavioural patterns which can have devastating effects on our health. If you have a poor and unhealthy diet you can run the risk of some serious weight gain and or increase your risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. To have a generally healthy lifestyle and an acceptable body you must be mindful of the grocery list, because what we eat is the determining factor. We were socialised to believe that somehow, we can pray or buy our way to good health and this simply isn’t true.
Good health is a gift and if you lose it no amount of money can protect you from illness. You don’t necessarily need money to be happy because happiness is a state of mind, but if you are determined to be miserable there’s absolutely no doubt you’d succeed at it. However, on the other hand if someone has a positive mindset and looks at the glass half full, then being happy wouldn’t be out of reach. No matter the amount of money in the bank, I believe a person is able to create their own happiness despite the greatest of difficulties. At the end of the day try to imagine happiness without good health.
