Carib's exports grow in tough year

"As the ANSA McAL Group, we hold majority share in breweries in Grenada and St Kitts. On a regional basis, our business has been solid. And among regional brewers, Carib remains 'the Caribbean beer.' Our footprint in the Caribbean is the best of any beer in the Caribbean." Waddell's intention is to grow the beer market in T&T. Although there are challenges, he still thinks that T&T, in many ways, is a better place to do business than other parts of the region. "While Trinidad has its issues, I don't think it's any worse and, in some cases, even better than other Caricom economies. "We have the lion's share of the market in T&T. Growing at the expense of our competitors will not add significant volume. Our responsibility is to grow the consumption of the entire beer market and that's the key to our marketing strategies in T&T. "While 2010 was not as exciting as we had hoped, it did challenge us as a team and, in the end, we are a better, stronger, more motivated company to face whatever 2011 has to offer."
