Per­sad-Bisses­sar said the time had come for T&T to move away from the "ex­tract­ing" com­po­nent of the pe­tro­le­um sec­tor and move to­wards pro­vid­ing ser­vices for oth­er na­tions who need as­sis­tance in fur­ther de­vel­op­ing their own oil and gas re­sources and trade. She said the project went along with the Gov­ern­ment's plan to ex­pand trade and busi­ness to the South­ern con­ti­nents while in­creas­ing in­ter com­mon­wealth trade. Per­sad-Bisses­sar said she hoped the Gov­ern­ment of Ghana would ac­cept T&T's pro­pos­al and was "look­ing for­ward to a very suc­cess­ful, mu­tu­al­ly prof­itable re­la­tion­ship" be­tween NGC and the Ghana­ian Gov­ern­ment.
