20 university students become bmobile interns

For the fourth year in a row, 20 uni­ver­si­ty stu­dents kicked off their ex­cit­ing jour­ney with the blink | bmo­bile fam­i­ly.An­nette Brad­shaw–ex­ec­u­tive vice pres­i­dent Hu­man Re­sources (Ag) was on hand to wel­come in­terns tak­ing part in the 2013 edi­tion of the blink | bmo­bile Uni­ver­si­ty Va­ca­tion In­tern­ship (UVI) Pro­gramme launched at the Ch­aguara­mas Train­ing Cen­tre.

Brad­shaw said: "Our aim through the UVI pro­gramme is to ig­nite the in­terns' pas­sion by mar­ry­ing their pro­fes­sion­al am­bi­tions, aca­d­e­m­ic ex­pe­ri­ence and ex­po­sure to a wide cross sec­tion of de­part­ments in­clud­ing mo­bile, hu­man re­sources, tech­nol­o­gy and cus­tomer care."

Joel Brito, a UWI stu­dent pur­su­ing a BA in Span­ish and French said: "Apart from be­ing ex­posed to what it takes to run such a pres­ti­gious or­gan­i­sa­tion, I look for­ward to learn­ing dif­fer­ent as­pects of mod­ern day busi­ness. I wel­come the op­por­tu­ni­ty to con­tribute to the or­gan­i­sa­tion's pur­suits this year and to en­rich my own un­der­stand­ing and skill-sets up­on en­ter­ing the busi­ness world at the end of my uni­ver­si­ty ex­pe­ri­ence."

In­terns at­tend­ed two days of de­vel­op­men­tal train­ing in Ca­reer Es­sen­tials, Time Man­age­ment and Goal Set­tings pri­or to be­ing as­signed to var­i­ous posts with­in the com­pa­ny for two months.
