First Cit­i­zens has won two World Fi­nance 2014 Bank­ing Awards for Best Re­tail Bank: T&T 2014 and Best Com­mer­cial Bank: T&T 2014.Over the last three years, First Cit­i­zens has con­sis­tent­ly re­ceived glob­al recog­ni­tion of its ser­vice ex­cel­lence by win­ning awards such as Best Bank, T&T by World Fi­nance and The Banker Mag­a­zine in 2012 and Best Bank, T&T at Eu­romoney Awards in the Unit­ed King­dom last year.

Speak­ing at the group's re­cent long ser­vice and staff awards, group chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Lar­ry Nath said: "Of equal sig­nif­i­cance to win­ning the awards is the fact that it is the first oc­ca­sion that the World Fi­nance Bank­ing Mag­a­zine has be­stowed the two awards on one bank."The in­sti­tu­tion cel­e­brat­ed its 100th year of bank­ing this year, trac­ing its roots to the Pen­ny Bank which start­ed in 1914.
