Scotia profits in T&T upkeep global ranking

Healthy af­ter tax prof­its from Sco­tia­bank T&T is help­ing to en­sure the par­ent com­pa­ny re­tains its glob­al rank­ing as the 16th largest fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tion.So said Bren­dan King, new­ly-ap­point­ed chair­man of the lo­cal bank, when he spoke at a cer­e­mo­ny in his ho­n­our on Tues­day evening in St Clair, Port-of-Spain.

"I can as­sure you that Sco­tia­bank T&T will re­main fo­cused on en­hanc­ing the cus­tomer's ex­pe­ri­ence, of­fer­ing in­no­v­a­tive prod­uct so­lu­tions to our clients and in­creased share­hold­er val­ue. We will en­sure Sco­tia­bank con­tin­ues to de­liv­er the best to you, our val­ued clients," he said.

"Sco­tia­bank's strong, con­sis­tent per­for­mance is the re­sult of well thought-out strate­gies that have been test­ed and proven. This is why we have been suc­cess­ful in the Caribbean over the past 125 years and the rea­son we re­main com­mit­ted to its fu­ture. Our suc­cess, how­ev­er, is tied to the suc­cess of the coun­tries, its peo­ple and the com­mu­ni­ties in which we op­er­ate.King re­placed fel­low Cana­di­an Sylvia Chromin­s­ka, who stepped down al­most 18 months as chair of the bank's board of di­rec­tors. He was elect­ed at Sco­tia­bank T&T's share­hold­er meet­ing at the Hy­att Re­gency in Port-of-Spain.
