KINGSTON, Ja­maica–Dig­i­cel Busi­ness has signed a part­ner­ship with Stream Tech­nolo­gies, a glob­al leader in con­nec­tiv­i­ty so­lu­tions for the In­ter­net of Things that will see cus­tomers con­nect­ing their ma­chines, de­vices and ap­pli­ances wire­less­ly us­ing an 'IoT' plat­form that will pow­er Dig­i­cel Busi­ness' Ma­chine to Ma­chine (M2M) prod­ucts.

The In­ter­net of Things (IoT) rev­o­lu­tion sees more de­vices from any in­dus­try be­com­ing con­nect­ed, thus al­low­ing easy trans­fer of da­ta over a net­work with­out the need for hu­man-to-hu­man or hu­man-to-com­put­er in­ter­ac­tion.

Dig­i­cel Busi­ness is bring­ing this tech­nol­o­gy to its cus­tomers in a way that will make it easy for them to in­stall and use–with high avail­abil­i­ty and scal­a­bil­i­ty–and Stream's "IoT-x" plat­form does just that.

Es­sen­tial­ly, de­vices such as a re­frig­er­a­tion unit at a cold stor­age fa­cil­i­ty or an elec­tric­i­ty me­ter at a home will be­come "in­tel­li­gent" as­sets and pro­vide a new lev­el of ef­fi­cien­cy for busi­ness­es.

The prod­uct will as­sist Dig­i­cel Busi­ness cus­tomers who need to man­age large vol­umes of in­stal­la­tions or au­to­mate de­ploy­ments for their as­sets, al­low­ing them to in­te­grate it seam­less­ly in­to their sys­tems.
