Frere Del­mas has been ap­point­ed ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor to the board of Massy Hold­ings Lim­it­ed, re­plac­ing Earl Boodas­ingh, who re­tired on Oc­to­ber 31. He has al­so been ap­point­ed to suc­ceed Boodas­ingh as ex­ec­u­tive vice pres­i­dent of the In­te­grat­ed Re­tail Busi­ness Unit.

Del­mas, who al­so serves as chair­man and di­rec­tor for oth­er sub­sidiaries in the group, took up his new ap­point­ments ef­fec­tive No­vem­ber 7.

He is the coun­try man­ag­er for the Massy Group in Bar­ba­dos, a po­si­tion he as­sumed in Jan­u­ary 2013, and is a for­mer ex­ec­u­tive chair­man for Massy's Re­tail Busi­ness Unit and, pri­or to that, was the ex­ec­u­tive chair­man of the BS&T Food Re­tail and Dis­tri­b­u­tion Di­vi­sion, as well as a BS&T di­rec­tor.

A no­tice from Massy Hold­ings Lim­it­ed post­ed to the T&T Stock Ex­change stat­ed: "Mr Del­mas has an ac­cu­mu­lat­ed wealth of man­age­ment ex­pe­ri­ence and knowl­edge in the su­per­mar­ket in­dus­try and in whole­sale dis­tri­b­u­tion.His ca­reer spans 36 years in these fields."He con­tin­ues to of­fer his ex­per­tise in these ar­eas in his cur­rent po­si­tion, by pro­vid­ing lead­er­ship over­sight at the do­mes­tic lev­el as well as for Massy's re­tail in­ter­ests in St Lu­cia."

Boodas­ingh, who joined the group in 1981 and held many se­nior po­si­tions across and com­pa­ny, had his start as a cost and man­age­ment ac­coun­tant and went on to hold the po­si­tions of fi­nan­cial comp­trol­er and fi­nan­cial di­rec­tor for a num­ber of com­pa­nies and ma­jor di­vi­sions, in­clud­ing the then Mar­ket­ing and Dis­tri­b­u­tion Di­vi­sion (now Massy Dis­tri­b­u­tion) and Hi-Lo Food Stores (now Massy Stores.

In 2002, he was ap­point­ed tran­si­tion man­aget for HD Hop­wood and Com­pa­ny Ltd in Ja­maica–now Massy Dis­tri­b­u­tion (Ja­maica) Ltd.Three years lat­er, Boodas­ingh was ap­point ex­ec­u­tive chair­man of the group's Au­to­mo­tive and In­dis­tri­al Equip­ment Busi­ness Unit.
