Anya M Schnoor, se­nior vice pres­i­dent and man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Sco­tia­bank T&T Ltd, has as­sumed an ex­pand­ed role in the Caribbean. In ad­di­tion to her cur­rent role, she will as­sume over­sight of Sco­tia­bank's South and East Caribbean op­er­a­tions, pro­vid­ing over­sight to the coun­try heads of Guyana, Bar­ba­dos, the East­ern Caribbean and Cu­ra­cao.

This change will ac­cel­er­ate de­ci­sion mak­ing in the re­gion and fol­lows re­cent changes and re­align­ment of the ex­ec­u­tive func­tions in Cana­da and the re­struc­ture of the Caribbean in­to ge­o­graph­ic zones–North, South, East and Cen­tral dis­tricts.

The Sco­tia­bank group has over the years con­tin­ued to re­fine its op­er­a­tions to en­sure ef­fi­cien­cy and best in class ser­vice through­out its bank­ing op­er­a­tions in the Caribbean. The bank has been able to re­alise these ef­fi­cien­cies through re­gion­al cen­tres of ex­cel­lence in or­der to re­main com­pet­i­tive and sus­tain­able. An ex­am­ple of this strat­e­gy is clear­ly demon­strat­ed in the bank's Shared Ser­vices op­er­a­tions here in T&T which pro­vides back-of­fice sup­port to 15 coun­tries through­out the re­gion.

This does not change the gov­er­nance or re­port­ing struc­ture of the lo­cal bank.

"I am thor­ough­ly ex­cit­ed at my ex­pand­ed role and look for­ward to work­ing with the wider Caribbean Re­gion as we con­tin­ue to look for op­por­tu­ni­ties to make our cus­tomers bet­ter off" said Schnoor, who has more than 24 years' ex­pe­ri­ence in in­vest­ments and bank­ing.

Pri­or to join­ing Sco­tia­bank in May 2006, as ex­ec­u­tive vice pres­i­dent, Wealth Man­age­ment & In­sur­ance, she has held var­i­ous se­nior po­si­tions in­clud­ing gen­er­al man­ag­er for Ea­gle Unit Trust and se­nior vice pres­i­dent and chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer at Pan Caribbean Fi­nan­cial Ser­vices.

Schnoor was ap­point­ed man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Sco­tia­bank T&T Ltd on No­vem­ber 1, 2012 and was ap­point­ed to the board on May 31, 2012.

She holds a Mas­ter of Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion from Bar­ry Uni­ver­si­ty and a Bach­e­lor of Arts in Fi­nance and In­ter­na­tion­al Busi­ness from Flori­da In­ter­na­tion­al Uni­ver­si­ty.

Schnoor serves as a di­rec­tor of all of the bank's sub­sidiary com­pa­nies–Sco­tiaL­ife T&T Ltd (chair­per­son), Sco­tia In­vest­ments T&T Ltd (chair­per­son) and Sco­tia SKN Ltd. She is al­so a di­rec­tor of the Sco­tia­bank T&T Foun­da­tion, Maduro & Curiels's Bank, Sco­tia­bank Caribbean Hold­ings Ltd, Unit­ed Way T&T and vice pres­i­dent of the Bankers' As­so­ci­a­tion of T&T.
