How­ev­er we may feel about mon­ey, peo­ple with mon­ey, or the pur­suit of mon­ey, we have to agree that mon­ey IS im­por­tant

�2 Mon­ey is im­por­tant be­cause hav­ing mon­ey means we will not be des­ti­tute.

�2 Mon­ey is im­por­tant be­cause it en­ables us to have more con­trol over our lives, more free­dom to carve out our own paths and less con­straints on our choic­es.

�2 Mon­ey is im­por­tant be­cause it means be­ing able to give our chil­dren the best ed­u­ca­tion, the best health care, and the best start in life. Of course, mon­ey can al­so great­ly spoil them, so it's up to us par­ents to find ways to give our kids the best, while still teach­ing them the val­ue of mon­ey and not giv­ing them so much that their views on life be­comes twist­ed.

�2 Mon­ey is im­por­tant be­cause it means less fi­nan­cial wor­ries. Sure, the wealthy wor­ry too � they wor­ry about los­ing their for­tune, for ex­am­ple. But that is not the same as wor­ry­ing about be­ing able to put food on the ta­ble.

�2 Mon­ey is im­por­tant be­cause it en­ables us to give back to our com­mu­ni­ties, to pick the char­i­ties and caus­es we be­lieve in, and sup­port them.

�2 Mon­ey is im­por­tant be­cause hav­ing mon­ey means that life is not a con­stant ef­fort at keep­ing our heads above wa­ter.

�2 Hav­ing mon­ey en­ables us to live life to the fullest, mak­ing the most of what we have. It buys us a more com­fort­able lifestyle, which, in it­self, is not a bad thing, since we are pro­grammed to seek warmth, safe­ty and com­fort, and hav­ing mon­ey is a great way to se­cure those things.

�2 "Wealth con­sists not in hav­ing great pos­ses­sions, but in hav­ing few wants" is a pop­u­lar quote.

�2 So hav­ing few wants is prob­a­bly the best in­sur­ance against greed­i­ness, be­cause it's hu­man na­ture to keep want­i­ng more. And the more we have, it's the more we want.

�2 Mon­ey, there­fore, is an im­por­tant tool. On its own it's nei­ther good nor bad, just a means to an end. It is a tool that en­ables us to pro­tect our­selves, to build a bet­ter life for our­selves and our fam­i­lies. And, most im­por­tant­ly, should be used to try and ease the dai­ly bur­dens of the less for­tu­nate among us.
