More than 700 students from various schools will participate in the seventh National Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC) that will commence in October.
In a news release yesterday, NSSEC said the competition is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by companies such as Shell, Massy Foundation, Guardian Group, and PwC, and is set to inspire and equip the next generation of business leaders with the skills necessary to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving economy.
NSSEC was started by 3Stone Ltd and since its inception in 2017, the programme has delivered an impressive 35,000 hours of high-impact business training, resulting in the positive transformation of 3,500 lives.
Last year’s top-performing teams (Corpus Christi College, 1st & 2nd place winners, and Arima North Secondary, 3rd place winners) were awarded an array of technology-focused prizes, including Apple laptops, iPads, and Samsung smartphones, valued at over $100,000, and schools can expect the same prices this year.
NSSEC noted that a comprehensive survey of past participants showcases the programme’s substantial influence.
The survey reported that 98.5 per cent of respondents affirmed that the NSSEC experience had a positive impact on their business education.
This year’s NSSEC promises not only to fuel young entrepreneurial aspirations but also to celebrate the success stories that have emerged from the competition’s previous editions.
