Mayaro schools top southeast pan festival

Ma­yaro Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry and Ma­yaro Sec­ondary Schools won the pri­ma­ry and sec­ondary cat­e­go­ry, re­spec­tive­ly, in the re­cent­ly con­clud­ed south­east pan fes­ti­val.The com­pe­ti­tion which took place last Fri­day, spon­sored by the Na­tion­al En­er­gy Cor­po­ra­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go, fo­cussed on schools in Ma­yaro and en­vi­rons. Each win­ning school took home $5,000 and a tro­phy for cop­ing the top prize.Five pri­ma­ry and two sec­ondary schools par­tic­i­pat­ed in the event at the Ma­yaro Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry School ground.

Ma­yaro Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry School played Shad­ow's Bass­man while Ma­yaro Sec­ondary School played Lord Kitch­en­er's Pan in A Mi­nor.A large crowd con­sist­ing main­ly of stu­dents were en­ter­tained by the com­pet­ing bands.The Na­tion­al En­er­gy Cor­po­ra­tion was con­grat­u­lat­ed for bring­ing a smooth­ly or­ches­trat­ed event.
