?The inability of West Indies cricket to maintain the pinnacle which it was renowned for in yesteryears must be of concern to any sport-minded individual. The Aussies established a cricket academy when the West Indies dominated cricket, England and India have pursued programmes of sustained competitiveness. However, the continuous emergence of teenage proteges from Pakistan attracted some attention. The most recent is 17-year-old Mohammad Aamir, who was entrusted to open the attack for Pakistan. Investigation showed that corporate institutions have played a major role in the development of players. Apparently when a young person age l2-13 years shows potential, a corporate institution would sponsor that person academically, socially and with training and coaching programmes. This looks more like 6/6 vision.
