His voice has won the hearts of millions of listeners across the world. He is the winner of numerous awards, including Best Singer, at the prestigious 2010 Filmfare Awards and the 2011 Star Screen Awards. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will be coming to Trinidad for the first time to perform in what is being dubbed The Ultimate Concert Experience.Rahat is currently on a sold-out North American tour of 27 major cities and is scheduled to perform in Trinidad on May 14 at the Centre of Excellence, Macoya.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was born in Faisalabad, Punjab in 1974 and was trained from a young age under his uncle, the renowned Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, in the classical tradition of Qawwali, a devotional music of the Sufi peoples.Beautifully entrancing and at times haunting, the poetry and prose of the lyrics in Qawwali are delivered on melodies and rhythms considered to be one of the most passionate forms of Eastern music. This foundation was the basis for his successful transition into Bollywood and popular music, and today he enjoys monumental mainstream success as is evident from the popularity of his music and the many awards that he continues to win.

Rahat made his debut as a Bollywood playback singer in 2001 with the movie Paap, featuring the hit song Mann Ki Lagan. His consistently popular releases are featured in some of the biggest and highest grossing Bollywood films of today and include O Re Piya from Aaja Nachle and Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye from Kalyug, both of which are wildly popular in T&T as well.He will be accompanied on stage by Trinidad's premier East Indian dance company, the bmobile Shiv Shakti Dance Company, as well as other top artistes.A special fusion treat is being planned just for the local audience.
