Casanova Cast delivers

by

Torrential rain across T&T last Sunday failed to affect the fun imagined as was ultimately realised by thrill-seekers who made the journey to the Salybia Nature Resort and Spa for an event simply dubbed, Casanova. Scores of fun-lovers converged for the fresh, funky, smooth and sexy pool party, carrying coolers laden with premium drinks for the full-day event. And, as fate would have it, they did not forget to pack the sun-shiny personalities that brightened the overcast day.

Poolside patrons moved their bodies in rhythmic motion to today's hottest hits and memorable throwbacks, as delivered by a star cast of DJs, before advancing to the fun in the water, at the event produced by the Casanova Cast. Originally, Casanova was one of three premium presentations billed to take place last weekend, but the postponement of the other two-Red October and Hennessy Artistry-advertised to be held at venues in Port-of-Spain-consequently declared the Salybia love experience as the only place to be. Clearly, the promoters knew how to treat their guests.

Even with their well-stocked coolers and other goodies, patrons at Casanova were treated to savoury complimentary treats that ranged from Puncheon Rum jello-shots and punch-aid shots courtesy Angostura; salt prunes soaked in Sauza tequila from Alston Marketing Company; Redbull energy drinks; Soldanza plantain chips courtesy Holiday Snacks; and believe it or not, Trojan condoms from Oscar Francois. There were no posers at the event, however, just people who were coy, initially, about going into the pool. But it did not stay that way for long. Water babes made sure of that. They corralled their friends who were yet to take a dip and threw them in-fully clothed.

Joyful screams and euphoric laughter at those scenes rivalled the music emanating from the speakers.

There were many who did not plan to go into the water but they were overcome, it seemed, by the sheer excitement being had by others in the pool. So, they eventually disrobed, as much as they could, secured their high-end mobile phones, cash and ID, and made a splash in full-length jeans and three-quarters, too. Even with the sprawling sand and sea of Salybia beach just a stone's throw away from the venue, Casanova never lost its appeal. Sea-bathers on the public beach, however, could not resist the infectious vibes emanating from the Salybia Nature Resort.

Unable to fight the temptation, they tried to access the venue without tickets. Security stepped in and deterred them. It's anyone's guess how male lifeguards on location were able to stay focused and avert potential troubles patrons might have brought on themselves-thankfully none occurred-with that many gorgeous, naughty girls before them gyrating and jiggling. Kudos deservedly go out to the mic-men at Casanova, who with their birds-eye view of the activities offered humorous commentary that crystallised the explosive weekend of fun, at what was undoubtedly the hottest event on Trinidad's east coast on the weekend.
