Dig­i­cel IMAX host­ed its first Tel­ugu/Tamil lan­guage movie pre­miere last week Sat­ur­day. The crit­i­cal­ly ac­claimed movie of the evening-called EE­GA (ti­tled Naan Ee in Tamil)-was viewed by more than 200 peo­ple, in­clud­ing the In­di­an High Com­mis­sion­er, Malay Mishra, CEO of the Dig­i­cel IMAX In­grid Jahra and chair­man of the Dig­i­cel IMAX Bri­an Jahra.

Many of the pa­trons who came from south Trinidad en­joyed a first-time ex­pe­ri­ence at the the­atre, where they were treat­ed to spe­cial­ly-made In­di­an del­i­ca­cies in­clud­ing pako­ra, sea­soned rice and samosas. Dis­trib­u­tors of the movie Dr Kalic­hand My­neni and Roberts Prashanth Butha­p­ati from the south of In­dia, ex­pressed great sat­is­fac­tion with the turnout and the pos­i­tive feed­back from the movie. They said they would like to ex­pose more Trinida­di­ans to these films, which are very pop­u­lar in In­dia now.

Se­nior mar­ket­ing of­fi­cer, Charis­sa Minty, said, "We at the Dig­i­cel IMAX were very in­ter­est­ed to show­case great East In­di­an movies. I was al­so quite im­pressed with the graph­ics and the vi­su­als of the movie and it filled our en­tire screen, which was great.

With the suc­cess­ful show­ing of this movie we look for­ward to work­ing with Dr Kalic­hand and Mr Roberts in the near fu­ture with oth­er films such as these." With pos­i­tive re­views world­wide, the pro­duc­ers of the film are re­port­ed­ly con­sid­er­ing a se­quel, but they are still very much in the ear­ly stages.
