The month of April has become synonymous with jazz in T&T. In keeping with this, Fiesta Plaza has taken the opportunity to showcase the country’s finest female jazz performers at Divas of Jazz, featuring Chantal Esdelle and the Band Moyenne, Glenda Collins and the ever powerful, Mavis John.
They will come out this month to perform evergreen and local hits for all the jazz lovers on the island.

Showtime is from 8.30 pm each Saturday. The Fiesta Plaza Jazz Month opens with vocalist/pianist/composer/arranger Chantal Esdelle, along with her band Moyenne, tomorrow, followed by the Caribbean Queen of Soul, Mavis John on Glorious Saturday, and ending with the sexy and sultry voice of Glenda Collins on April 25.

These three women of jazz will bring the house down on each of these evenings as their accomplishments are well known and their reputations second to none, not only in the jazz arena but in the music world as a whole. Chantal has performed along side many well known, international jazz artistes and Mavis blends the art of calypso classics effortlessly with her own jazz spin, breathing new life into the calypso goldies.

Glenda, the diva of the 2005 and 2006 3Canal productions, has trained at the opera institute and at the Boston university in vocal performance. Fiesta Plaza’s Month of Jazz promises to entice and excite everyone who comes to witness these women of jazz.
