The word is out, so you have prob­a­bly no­ticed the at­trac­tive 5 Star in­vi­ta­tion in high cir­cu­la­tion; down­loaded your 5 Star Mix CD–The An­niver­sary Edi­tion; heard the com­pelling ra­dio cam­paign or re­ceived it by e-mail.

Any As­so­ciate De­gree devo­tee or avid par­ty-go­er is al­ready aware of the facts of the up­com­ing As­so­ciate De­gree sig­na­ture event; the an­niver­sary par­ty tonight, at the Sting Night­club, South Trunk Road, La Ro­maine; and no one will have to tell you that the fea­ture guest per­former is Cham.

Cham, for­mer­ly known as Ba­by Cham, will fly in for the 2009 fes­tiv­i­ties, main­ly due to his pre­vi­ous stel­lar in­volve­ment back in 2005. "Cham was hand-picked for this year be­cause we want to take you back to the start­ing point so we could cre­ate a dif­fer­ent path for the Sound Sys­tem–al­most like we're restart­ing, but with a big­ger, bet­ter vi­sion," Ak­il Bor­neo said.

Dubbed The Rein­ven­tion Par­ty, the event al­so will cel­e­brate the evo­lu­tion that As­so­ciate De­gree has un­der­gone–in­clud­ing the up­dat­ed im­age–and cel­e­brates the lev­el the sound is now at. "We want to go the ex­tra mile, just like our fans go the ex­tra mile for us and with us. We've been giv­ing bonus­es to them in var­i­ous ways, in­clud­ing an in­tro­duc­to­ry of­fer on Star Cer­tifi­cates (tick­ets). We want to give them the 5 Star treat­ment," Bor­neo says.

Bor­neo, the mouth­piece of As­so­ciate De­gree has shorn his dis­tinc­tive dread­locks for a more clean-shaven look. "On the night, women al­so have a chance to re­ceive the All Star treat­ment, as mem­bers of our face­book event group (Search Face­book for: Ak­il & As­so­ciate De­gree An­niver­sary Par­ty 2009).
