You've got to give Pe­ter Telfer a medal for tenac­i­ty. Pe­ter has held true to his be­lief in drum and praise and his out­fit, called the Mawasi Ex­pe­ri­ence (MXP). Over the years, Mawasi Ex­pe­ri­ence has been rais­ing praise in Catholic church­es with their unique sound and songs of wor­ship. Their new­ly re­leased CD, Ku­tun­za Uhu­ru (Cher­ish Ex­pe­ri­ence), marks a mile­stone for the Mawasi Ex­pe­ri­ence, which has had its share of ups and downs. The group has been held to­geth­er by Pe­ter, who has more en­er­gy than the En­er­giz­er Ben­ny, and is com­pos­er of the sev­en cre­ative pieces.

The CD fea­tures Pe­ter do­ing a "panstru­men­tal" and "drum­stru­men­tal." Who else but Pe­ter could come up these new words to en­hance the mu­si­cal dic­tio­nary.

If the trou­bles of life get you down, the Mawasi Ex­pe­ri­ence's mu­sic can lift your flag­ging spir­it. Some well-known names, like Mark Gabriel, Jaron Forbes, Ray­mond Ed­wards, Ly­dia Ledger­wood, Neon Niles, David Charles, Shem Brew­ster, Robert To­bitt, Michell Nicholas and the fan­tas­tic David Orr are on this CD. Josanne Fran­cis is fea­tured on tenor pan.

It was record­ed at Laven­tille Tech­nol­o­gy and con­tin­u­ing Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­tre, with Nicholas Noel at the con­trols. The CD is ded­i­cat­ed to the mem­o­ry of de­ceased MXP mem­bers Avion Tay­lor Roach, Adri­an Richards and Or­lan­do Mc In­tosh.
