Hip-Hop Hall of Fame in­ductee Naughty by Na­ture is billed to per­form at Pier 1, Ch­aguara­mas, on Oc­to­ber 24, for Gen­er­a­tion of Soul 3, an old school par­ty se­ries that com­bines the mu­sic of top lo­cal DJs with lo­cal and in­ter­na­tion­al live acts. Pre­vi­ous edi­tions of Gen­er­a­tion of Soul saw acts such as Slick Rick, Dougie Fresh and Boyz II Men per­form­ing be­fore hun­dreds of pa­trons. Event pro­duc­er ABC Pro­duc­tions has al­so pre­sent­ed the Temp­ta­tions and oth­er in­ter­na­tion­al acts in con­cert.?Join­ing the in­ter­na­tion­al­ly ac­claimed rap trio on stage is fel­low hip-hop act Lisa Lisa, as well as vet­er­an Ja­maican dance­hall act Flour­gon and lo­cal reg­gae singer Jah Melody.

Gen­er­a­tion of Soul 3 will al­so pay trib­ute to ten old school DJs that have, over the years, catered to fans of au­then­tic hip-hop danc­ing. The line-up of DJs be­ing ho­n­oured in­cludes CIN, Kabu­ki, Dream Team, Ish­mael, Howie T, Pro­fes­sion­als, Richard Sim­ply Smooth, Fran­co and Jus Jase. Cur­rent­ly in the midst of a suc­cess­ful world tour, Naughty by Na­ture is al­so about to re­lease its re­union CD col­lec­tion en­ti­tled An­them Inc. The Gram­my Award win­ning trio from New Jer­sey, that con­sists of Treach, Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee, de­buted in 1991 with the sin­gle OPP, which in­stant­ly be­came a hip-hop an­them world­wide. As if to prove to crit­ics the trio was not a one-hit won­der, Naughty by Na­ture fol­lowed-up their smash de­but with oth­er chart-top­ping sin­gles, such as Every­thing's Gonna Be Al­right, Up­town An­them, Hip Hop Hooray, Feel Me Flow and Jam­boree. The group was in­duct­ed in­to the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame last year.

Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam was one of the most mu­si­cal­ly di­verse and suc­cess­ful record­ing acts of the 1980's sell­ing over one mil­lion copies of their de­but sin­gle–I Won­der if I Take You Home. With Lisa Lisa in the lead, the group earned five gold sin­gles and two plat­inum al­bums with hits like All Cried Out, Head to Toe, Lost in Emo­tion and Let The Beat Hit Them. Flour­gon is the per­son re­spon­si­ble for nur­tur­ing Bu­ju Ban­ton and Ter­ry Ganzie in the ear­ly days of their re­spec­tive ca­reers, back when he worked with var­i­ous sound sys­tems in Ja­maica. As an artiste, he re­leased hit sin­gles, How You So Hot with Bri­an and Tony Gold; Girls Just Wan­na Have Fun, with Thriller; Go Sit Down with Clement Irie; Jun­gle Lover and Mad­ly In Love, with Sanchez and Jump And Spread Out and Turn And Stab, with Dad­dy Lizard. Flour­gon al­so had hit sin­gles such as Mil­lion And More, Zig It Up and Live Good.
