Mr Muzik

Er­rol H Re­naud is a Tri­ni singer/song­writer and mu­si­cian who makes his liv­ing Down Un­der, in Syd­ney, Aus­tralia. This son of the soil has been spread­ing the mes­sage of so­ca, ca­lyp­so and reg­gae in his own spe­cial way. I got my hand on a copy of his 15-track CD–Er­rol H Re­naud Live, and its quite en­ter­tain­ing.

Er­rol shows his ver­sa­til­i­ty on the CD that fea­tures songs with some in­ter­est­ing ti­tles–Joy, Ride, Move For­ward, Just A Mem­o­ry, All Yuh and Wha Hap­penin. This tells me the singer just can't es­cape his Tri­ni roots. I like the songs on this CD es­pe­cial­ly Ride, Move For­ward and Your Song (on which Er­rol is fea­tured on the steel­pan, his in­stru­ment of pref­er­ence). Mo­hammed re­leas­es new CD

Leg­endary Pan arranger Lennox "Bob­by" Mo­hammed has re­leased a 24-track CD called The Gold­en Era of the Steel­band Vol 8. The CD fea­tures mu­sic of the fa­mous Guin­ness Cav­a­liers (1967-1973), arranged by Mo­hammed. It is filled with a va­ri­ety of se­lec­tions such as Miss Tourist, Jaws, The Bull, Theme From Ex­o­dus, Wood in the Fire, I Walk with God, and Maz­i­can among oth­ers.

If you like great pan mu­sic, this CD is just a won­der­ful ad­di­tion to your col­lec­tion. Done at Pas­tu­dio, with en­gi­neer Philip Al­lard at the con­trols, The Gold­en Era of the Steel­band Vol 8 is a CD that takes you mu­si­cal­ly down mem­o­ry lane in a cheer­ful way. The CD is now on sale at pop­u­lar record shops. Ask for it.
