Stellar cast for The Biggest Macco

Published: 12 Mar 2010

The Biggest Macco, by Jack Popplewell, tells the hilarious tale of a well meaning office macco; a corpse that keeps vanishing; and, a stern police superintendent who leads the investigation into the unclear events taking place in a prestigious office in Port-of-Spain. Everyone is a suspect—the sexy secretaries, the handsome accountant, the manager on vacation. Who has done the crime? Has a crime actually been committed? The play centres on a voluble cleaning woman who keeps advising the police how to mind their business and who steps forward with the right evidence at every turn. She is the biggest macco and her name is Mrs Pena, played by acclaimed comic actress Nikki Crosby.

It is a bacchanalian comedy that mixes colourful characters and unexpected relationships as the police search for the truth. The top-rate cast includes the likes of Richard Ragoobarsingh, Glenn Davis, Cecilia Salazar, Nigel Auguste, Aaron Schneider, Ria Ali and Leslie Ann Lavine. It is directed by Debra Boucaud Mason. Find out in this twisted “who done it” tale, who really is responsible for doing it. Is someone lying to cover-up the truth? Or are they all lying? What of the executive manager who is out of the country. Is he involved?

This new comedy premieres at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s, from March 25 - 28. There will be no extensions.
