An­ge­lo Mar­celle

T&T has an­oth­er mu­si­cal band to call its own. Launched at Au­ra Lounge, Cipri­ani Boule­vard, Port-of-Spain, last month, lo­cal Gram­my Award win­ner Anslem Dou­glas pre­sent­ed his band Zante. The band com­pris­es fe­male vo­cal­ist Tri­cia Hamil­ton, gui­tarist Joe Sookdeo, bassist Al­bert Bushe, key­boardist Daniel Burgess, and drum­mer Lea­son Ja­cobs.

Dou­glas ob­vi­ous­ly did his home­work with his fu­sion of ca­lyp­so and jazz, and cor­po­rate Trinidad and To­ba­go has al­ready start­ed us­ing it as part its mar­ket­ing strat­e­gy, with Dig­i­cel us­ing the launch to in­tro­duce its first Out­ta Con­trol Tour.

The show was opened by Krys­tal Khayne, who sang three orig­i­nal pieces she be­lieves can make it to the in­ter­na­tion­al stage. Dou­glas per­formed his Gram­my win­ning Who Let The Dogs Out, and used his fu­sion genre to do a num­ber of pop­u­lar songs.�
