Hundreds of children turned out for the Christmas Sports Festival for underprivileged children on December 5, hosted by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs under the auspices of Ruth Marchan, assistant director of Physical Education and Sport.
The event was held at the El Dorado Youth Development Apprenticeship Centre last Sunday. The children were treated to novelty events, bouncy castles, and a variety of fun-filled activities. There was even an impressive Michael Jackson impersonation by Ryan Augustine.
There were gifts for everyone, even those who did not participate in the events. Jennifer Jones, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, delivered the opening remarks, while Mark Mungal, president of the Trinidad and Tobago Alliance for Sport and Physical Education (TTASPE), gave the welcome address.
