Pan Trin­ba­go will be host­ing a Judges' Sem­i­nar to­mor­row at The Nor­manadie Ho­tel, 10 Nook Av­enue, St Ann's from 9 am to 4 pm. The main fo­cus of this event will be the Panora­ma Judg­ing cri­te­ria, with the pos­si­ble im­ple­men­ta­tion at next year's Panora­ma com­pe­ti­tions, as the or­gan­i­sa­tion seeks to im­prove the judg­ing as­pect of the events. The pan­elists for this sem­i­nar will be Orville Wright, Mer­le Al­bi­no-De Coteau, and Melville Bryan. Both Wright and Al­bi­no De-Coteau have served as ad­ju­di­ca­tors at var­i­ous steel­band com­pe­ti­tions, and con­duct­ed work­shops and lec­tures ded­i­cat­ed to the en­rich­ment of the steel­pan cul­ture.

The ex­er­cise will be di­vid­ed in two ses­sions. De­lib­er­a­tion and dis­cus­sions among the pre­sen­ters and ad­ju­di­ca­tors from 9 am to 11 am, dur­ing which the cur­rent judg­ing cri­te­ria will be eval­u­at­ed and rec­om­men­da­tions made. Im­me­di­ate­ly af­ter, the ac­tu­al sem­i­nar prop­er will com­mence. On­ly judges who at­tend this fo­rum will be short-list­ed to serve on the var­i­ous pan­els to ad­ju­di­cate Panora­ma 2011 com­pe­ti­tions. Mean­while, Pan Trin­ba­go of­fices–North­ern, South Cen­tral, East­ern, To­ba­go Re­gions and Cen­tral–will be closed from De­cem­ber 21 to 27 in­clu­sive. All of­fices will re-open on De­cem­ber 28 for busi­ness.
