Pan Trinbago will be hosting a Judges' Seminar tomorrow at The Normanadie Hotel, 10 Nook Avenue, St Ann's from 9 am to 4 pm. The main focus of this event will be the Panorama Judging criteria, with the possible implementation at next year's Panorama competitions, as the organisation seeks to improve the judging aspect of the events. The panelists for this seminar will be Orville Wright, Merle Albino-De Coteau, and Melville Bryan. Both Wright and Albino De-Coteau have served as adjudicators at various steelband competitions, and conducted workshops and lectures dedicated to the enrichment of the steelpan culture.
The exercise will be divided in two sessions. Deliberation and discussions among the presenters and adjudicators from 9 am to 11 am, during which the current judging criteria will be evaluated and recommendations made. Immediately after, the actual seminar proper will commence. Only judges who attend this forum will be short-listed to serve on the various panels to adjudicate Panorama 2011 competitions. Meanwhile, Pan Trinbago offices–Northern, South Central, Eastern, Tobago Regions and Central–will be closed from December 21 to 27 inclusive. All offices will re-open on December 28 for business.
