?President and pastor of Flaming Word Ministry Bishop Dave Alleyne has called on citizens to focus on the words of the national anthem. He said within the words lay a vision for the future of T&T. "When Pat Castagne penned the words of our sacred song he was inspired by God to present the blue-print of the Trinbago society, that every national was forged from the love of liberty in the fires of hope and prayer." Alleyne made the comment during the ministry's Day of Atonement ceremony, celebrated at the church in Chaguanas. The theme of this year's annual event was In The Fires of Hope and Prayer.
Alleyne said, "We wandered from the path and our leaders have allowed the 'fires' that is to be eternal to go out. We must rekindle the fires of hope and prayer in every strata of society." The ministry also used the opportunity to pray for the nation and to pronounce blessings upon the elements of life. Hundreds participated in the celebrations, which was co-ordinated by the ministry's special event co-ordinator Danielle Gale. The day's event included the earth dance performed by the FWM Glory Dancers, prayer for children, marriages, the earth, air, water and fire. Alleyne also announced that the ministry was observing this month as Cancer Awareness month.
