While some women have been lucky enough to find the perfect balance between corporate and family life and know exactly what it takes for them to look and feel their best, others will readily admit that they require a little help along the way. That's exactly where Elizabeth Garcia steps in. With her soon to be launched Club Quintessence–a woman's empowerment organisation–Garcia hopes to equip women with the necessary tools to realise their full potential. Offering professional advice on diet, nutrition, fitness and sexual health and wellness, Garcia says women everywhere can benefit from what her club has to offer. "It's all about bringing women together. I'm targeting housewives and professional women. I want to guide them towards getting jobs and owning their own businesses," she says.
Garcia, who owns and manages Ankh Products Ltd, a five-year-old women's retail store, says it was her daily interaction with women from different walks of life that inspired her new creation, Club Quintessence. "I work from home and I'm constantly meeting women who have no confidence in themselves," she explains. "They have problems with their children...They can't get the job, they can't get their own business. I want to tell them, they can." With a Marketing degree under her belt, the Barataria resident says Club Quintessence operates like a sisterhood, as it brings women from diverse backgrounds and cultures together for a common purpose.
The 33-year-old says it also offers a network of solutions to women's issues, while simultaneously providing avenues of empowerment for women in areas such as entrepreneurship, career guidance, financial planning and investment. She asserts: "Professional women can link their common concerns, feeding off the strengths of their mutual sisterhood in areas of paediatric care, male mentorship programmes, resolving conflicts within the home circle and identifying communities conducive to wholesome family success."
Garcia is urging women to become members of the club in order to experience all that it has to offer. With a founding concept of inspiration, education and good, clean wholesome fun, Club Quintessence will officially open its doors to the nation's women on December 13 in Curepe.
