3Canal stirs up musical confusion.

Scenes of frolic filled the precincts of Alice Yard in Woodbrook last Tuesday, when rapso group 3Canal turned its media launch of Jam-It! For Life, Love and Liberte into a fete.

Delivering a repertoire that captured social and political issues, humour and party, the trio of Wendell Manwarren, Roger Roberts and Stanton Kewley, accompanied by dancers (The Jamets), created an excellent vibe at the media presentation. Guests at the event had no complaints.

Based on the post-Canboulay era, Jam-It! For Life, Love and Liberte allowed those in attendance to explore and celebrate 3Canal’s multiple offerings for Carnival 2010: the music; the video; the 3Canal Jam-It! Show 2010; and the J’Ouvert presentation for 2010 Jam-It! 10,000 Jamet coming down. The show reflects the music, which is designed to tell the story of a danger bubbling beneath the surface in T&T, waiting to explode if the people do not take stock of their ways and deeds. But it shows a way forward through positive thinking.
