?The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) held its Young Kings Calypso Monarch competition on February 1, at Pier 1, in Chaguaramas. Rana Mohip received an award for his contribution to classical and folk Indian music. Also receiving a special award was Hugh Borde. His award was for his significant contribution to the development of the national instrument as captain of Tripoli steel orchestra. Eighteen contestants participated in the competition and Kwesi Jeffers was the eventual winner. He was beaten in the Top 20 Stars of Tomorrow competition by Guidance, but was not to be outdone on this occasion. Guidance had to settle for third place.�Last year's Young King winner, Jervae Caesar, gave a special performance and thanked all for their support. He sang That is Small Business.
