Imo Rameses Bakari, a lecturer at the University of the Southern Caribbean, Maracas, St Joseph, says a basic understanding of psychology gives one a better chance at interacting with others, dealing with conflict and understanding one's self better.
This topic will be explored in greater detail at a conference–Psychology and You, at Point Fortin East Secondary School, on March 13, 20 and 27. It is being held by Motivational Speaking International Limited. A release said, "A fundamental desire of our organisation is to give the grassroots in our society exposure to pertinent information that can inspire them to act in their own and the nation's development."
To date, they have conducted courses on customer service, leadership, management, co-operative development, public relations and life skills. Among the other topics were events management, work ethics, food prices and entrepreneurship. Grassroots, academics and intellectuals have availed themselves of these courses. Certificates of participation are distributed upon completion.
