Healing minds

"Relaxation is the key to natural healing. If you can relax a person then you can stimulate the healing process." –The Mahan Tantric, Yogi Bhajan

Yogi Aftab Singh

Over the last 35 years, I have found this to be indeed true in every case that I have worked. I use a system called Meridian Chakra Healing, and I have combined it with Kundalini yoga to increase its effectiveness.

These are my main tools for stimulating healing, and I have found, over the years, that people respond extremely well when either or both of these methods are applied. The nexus of this healing practice is the Meridian Chakra Healing Technique, as taught by the Mahan Tantric, Yogi Bhajan.

The technique breaks through the mental barriers that inhibit the healing process. It relaxes and rebuilds the entire system, clears away psychic junk, and simulates self-healing.The meridians are like the electrical circuits in the body. In the Chinese system there are 12 main meridians, and in the Indian system, where they are called "nadis," there are three.

Electrical pulses, ki or prana, flow up, down, and through the body by way of these meridians or nadis. As you may know, when electricity moves through an object it creates an electromagnetic field, and this happens, too, in the human body. This electromagnetic field charges the aura and the chakras.

The chakras, which are either masculine or feminine, are energy sub-stations. There are seven main chakras: at each there is a vortex of nerves, a corresponding gland, and they are additionally associated with various states of spiritual consciousness, or evolution.

When stresses, or emotional, mental and psychic blocks inhibit our energy, we become unhealthy and ineffective. The energy flow through the meridians becomes weak or erratic, and the chakras are undernourished. If our energies are, however, allowed to flow freely, health and well-being are encouraged, the chakras are nourished, and our electro-magnetic fields, or auras, are strengthened and enhanced. This is how healing starts.

In preparing for a healing session, I usually look at the client's horoscope. Before I even begin physically treating my client, their personal horoscope will show me their areas of likely mental and physical weakness, and so give me an insight into the needs of the person I will be treating.

For example, a person with Saturn in Virgo will have digestive problems, so I will concentrate my energy on this area, while someone with Uranus in their Twelfth House is likely to have a great deal of trouble sleeping, and is in need of deep relaxation.

During the actual application of the Meridian Chakra Healing Technique, the client removes his shoes, and lies on his back, on a table, or on a soft padding. The sessions last between 45 minutes to one hour, depending on how easily it is to re-balance the person's energy flow.

After the treatment, as a way to help maintain the balanced state, I would suggest a specific Kundalini yoga routine that suits this particular person and their condition. Usually only one treatment session is all that is needed to sufficiently clear the mind and trigger healing, but if a person has a chronic condition or has suffered some extreme trauma, then a repeat session or two may be necessary.

During the time that I have been treating people, I have found that, in many instances, an adverse condition in our mental and emotional states will be reflected in the physical body as disease, discomfort or pain, and that by removing the internal energy blocks and allowing someone's energy to flow in harmony, they will experience a renewed or rejuvenated sense of calm, joy and improved health.

It is my hope that I can share this with as many people as possible during my visit to Trinidad.
