The San Fernando Boys' RC School had the double pleasure of the blessing of the Creche, and the school's annual Christmas frolic last week.
On December 2, pupils and parents reflected on the true meaning of Christmas with the blessing of the creche by Fr Allan Ventor.
Fr Ventor indicated the true significance of the creche. "The creche was the biggest high point of what we put up for Christmas. "Back in the year 1226, Francis Assisi built the first creche as a symbol to celebrate and commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.
"Jesus is a symbol of the obedience of Mary, his mother. And Jesus came into the world to save us. And for this the advent of the creche is as a result of him and the obedience of his mother."
This was followed by an annual Christmas frolic at Skinner Park, San Fernando, on December 5, which turned out to be a joyous occasion. Santa was there, and the children were treated to food, drinks and games, as well as a special guest appearance by Soca Elvis.
