The San Fer­nan­do Boys' RC School had the dou­ble plea­sure of the bless­ing of the Creche, and the school's an­nu­al Christ­mas frol­ic last week.

On De­cem­ber 2, pupils and par­ents re­flect­ed on the true mean­ing of Christ­mas with the bless­ing of the creche by Fr Al­lan Ven­tor.

Fr Ven­tor in­di­cat­ed the true sig­nif­i­cance of the creche. "The creche was the biggest high point of what we put up for Christ­mas. "Back in the year 1226, Fran­cis As­sisi built the first creche as a sym­bol to cel­e­brate and com­mem­o­rate the birth of Je­sus Christ.

"Je­sus is a sym­bol of the obe­di­ence of Mary, his moth­er. And Je­sus came in­to the world to save us. And for this the ad­vent of the creche is as a re­sult of him and the obe­di­ence of his moth­er."

This was fol­lowed by an an­nu­al Christ­mas frol­ic at Skin­ner Park, San Fer­nan­do, on De­cem­ber 5, which turned out to be a joy­ous oc­ca­sion. San­ta was there, and the chil­dren were treat­ed to food, drinks and games, as well as a spe­cial guest ap­pear­ance by So­ca Elvis.
