Asian Sticky Wings
We all know and love those sticky sweet wings on restaurant menus. Now you have to power to impress with these moorish munchies!
INGREDIENTS
3 pounds chicken wings
3 tablespoons lime juice or vinegar
¼ cup green seasoning
¼ cup soy sauce
3 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons red pepper flakes or hot pepper sauce
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion, finely diced
2 teaspoons ginger powder or minced ginger
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
For garnish
¼ cup chopped toasted cashews or peanuts
3 stalks chive, sliced
¼ cup chopped basil leaves
DIRECTIONS
1 Wash and clean chicken using lime juice or vinegar and water.
2 In a large bowl, toss chicken with green seasoning, soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic, onion and ginger.
3 Tightly cover with plastic wrap and let marinate in refrigerator for at least three hours, or ideally overnight.
4 Preheat oven to 450°F.
5 Drain wings of excess liquid.
6 In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, honey and sesame oil. Pour honey mixture onto wings and toss, evenly coating the wings.
7 Place wings on a baking tray lined with foil. Sprinkle half of the sesame seeds onto the wings and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until brown.
8 Remove wings from oven; turn each wing and sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds. Place wings back into oven for another 15 to 20 minutes or until golden-brown.
9 Transfer wings into serving dish and garnish with chives, basil and nuts.
