Trinida­di­an crim­i­nal jus­tice ex­pert, Suzette Emer­ald Brann, grad­u­at­ed on March 24 with a PhD in Crim­i­nal Jus­tice from Capel­la Uni­ver­si­ty in Min­neapo­lis, Min­neso­ta. Dr Brann is the daugh­ter of Mar­va Brann, the late Her­bert "Bing" Brann and the sis­ter of Dr Stacey Brann. She al­so holds a Ju­ris Doc­tor­ate from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bal­ti­more School of Law, and both a Mas­ters de­gree and a Bach­e­lors de­gree in Busi­ness Ad­min­is­tra­tion (spe­cial­is­ing in Mar­ket­ing) from Howard Uni­ver­si­ty. Dr Brann is pres­i­dent of her own man­age­ment and crim­i­nal jus­tice con­sult­ing firm, RBC (Reach­ing Be­yond Change) In­ter­na­tion­al, LLC which is head­quar­tered in Mary­land.

Her con­sul­tan­cy spe­cialis­es in pro­vid­ing op­er­a­tional lead­er­ship, ex­pert con­sul­ta­tion, and train­ing and tech­ni­cal as­sis­tance to agen­cies, State gov­ern­ments, NGOs, and in­ter­na­tion­al or­gan­i­sa­tions on the de­vel­op­ment, im­ple­men­ta­tion and en­hance­ment of pro­grammes work­ing with adults and ju­ve­niles un­der crim­i­nal jus­tice su­per­vi­sion. She is af­fil­i­at­ed with the Amer­i­can So­ci­ety of Crim­i­nol­o­gy, the In­ter­na­tion­al Acad­e­my of Law and Men­tal Health, the In­ter­na­tion­al As­so­ci­a­tion of Foren­sic Men­tal Health Ser­vices, the Na­tion­al As­so­ci­a­tion of Drug Court Pro­fes­sion­als, the Na­tion­al Crim­i­nal Jus­tice As­so­ci­a­tion and the Or­gan­i­sa­tion of Amer­i­can States (OAS)
