Trinidadian criminal justice expert, Suzette Emerald Brann, graduated on March 24 with a PhD in Criminal Justice from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dr Brann is the daughter of Marva Brann, the late Herbert "Bing" Brann and the sister of Dr Stacey Brann. She also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and both a Masters degree and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration (specialising in Marketing) from Howard University. Dr Brann is president of her own management and criminal justice consulting firm, RBC (Reaching Beyond Change) International, LLC which is headquartered in Maryland.
Her consultancy specialises in providing operational leadership, expert consultation, and training and technical assistance to agencies, State governments, NGOs, and international organisations on the development, implementation and enhancement of programmes working with adults and juveniles under criminal justice supervision. She is affiliated with the American Society of Criminology, the International Academy of Law and Mental Health, the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services, the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, the National Criminal Justice Association and the Organisation of American States (OAS)
