There was only one new death—a fully vaccinated person—from COVID-19 in Tobago, during the period 17-23 July 2022, according to the second weekly update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA). Tobago’s death toll is now 273, as at Saturday 23 July 2022.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes 93 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections, as at Saturday 23 July 2022, was 86. This is a drop from the previous week (10-16 July), at which time there were 104 active cases.
In terms of hospitalisations for COVID-19, the Health Division reports that 12 people are hospitalised, with seven of these patients unvaccinated against the disease, one person is partially vaccinated, and the other four patients were fully vaccinated.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 17-23 July 2022 also reports that patients continue to survive from the disease continue as 93 people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period 17-23 July 2022.
A total of 9,913 in Tobago have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020—up from 9,820 the previous week.
